Who we are and what this covers
Carolina Fieldstone is a hardscape and landscape contractor based in North Charleston, South Carolina. These terms cover this website and the estimates we give.
Every job also gets its own written estimate or agreement. That document governs that job. If it says something different from this page, the estimate or agreement wins.
Estimates and prices
Estimates are free. Before any work starts, you get the price in writing.
That price holds unless the scope of the job changes, or we find something that could not be seen when we priced it: buried rock, roots, old concrete or utilities, for example. If that happens, we show you what we found and agree the change with you in writing before we do any extra work.
Payment, deposits, cancellation and refunds
The payment schedule, any deposit and the cancellation terms for a job are set out in the written estimate or agreement for that job. If anything there is unclear, ask us before you sign.
Some materials are special-ordered for your job. Once we have bought them, the part of a deposit that paid for them may not be refundable.
If we cancel a job, we refund any deposit for work we have not done.
Our warranty
Our installations carry a two-year workmanship warranty. If something we built fails because of the way we built it, we come back and fix it.
Products such as pavers and turf also carry their manufacturers’ warranties. Those warranties pass through to you.
The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, work by other contractors, settling from causes outside our work, storms, floods or other acts of nature, or a lack of normal maintenance.

Your property
We need safe access to the work area for the length of the job, including a way in for materials and equipment. Tell us about locked gates, pets or anything else that affects getting in and out.
If your homeowners association or the Board of Architectural Review has to approve the work, we can handle the paperwork. The decision itself belongs to the association or board, not to us.
We call SC811 before we dig so that buried utility lines can be marked. Private lines that are not marked, such as irrigation, landscape lighting or an invisible pet fence, are yours to point out to us before we start.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina. Any dispute about them will be handled by the courts in Charleston County, South Carolina.
Changes to these terms, and how to reach us
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. A change does not alter an estimate or agreement you have already signed.
